BOREALIS HIRING BUSINESS ANALYST FOR INTERNSHIP POSITION

Title: Business Analyst
Borealis Geopower Inc., is Canada's premiere geothermal energy consultant and developer. Currently, Borealis is developing two British Columbia projects as well as a pipeline of consulting contracts. The successful intern will become Borealis' Business Analyst and help grow the geothermal energy industry in Canada. Geothermal energy project financing and accounting/reporting follow similar practices to other sub-surface natural resources. Because of this, the role is ideal for a candidate with experience in the oil and gas or mineral exploration sector who is seeking experience in the clean-tech sector.

​Job Description:

• Run corporate and project economic models and scenarios.
• Be familiar with the Canadian and provincial tax codes especially related to renewables.
• Assist in the creation of business strategy, financial projections and budgeting.
• Project management, project reporting, and project record keeping.​
• Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and correspondence.
• Consult with clients and maintain client relations.
• Assist with equity and debt financing.
• Provide administrative support.
• Assist the Borealis team in maintaining, editing documents, and monitoring business operations.

Experience:

• Previous office administration and financial modelling experience preferred.
• Previous marketing work experience preferred.
• Familiar with Mac devices, DropBox, Hootsuite, Weebly, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Familiar with geothermal energy and renewable energy industry.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting, a high level of numeracy will be required.
• Very strong attention to detail
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial team environment
• Excellent writing skills

A science, technology or engineering based background would help the applicant best understand our line of business. The expected candidate shall have a commerce background with finance or accounting experience.
