In 1904, the world's very first geothermal power plant was developed by Piero Ginori Conti in Italy. Now, over one hundred years later, Canada's first geothermal power plant is in development. Borealis Geopower's Sustainaville project could establish the infrastructure necessary to facilitate the development of local businesses in the Valemount community. One such planned development is the creation of a hot pool tourist attraction on Kinbasket Lake. In the article, Mike Sato, the world renowned hot pool developer hired for the project by the Valemount Geothermal Society, is quoted as saying "Realistically it (the pool) should be capable of year-round tourism. It could become a very popular hot spring site that combines rustic elegance with majestic scenery in a tranquil, secluded setting."

The order relates to a demonstration project named Sustainaville, in Valemount, British Columbia. It includes delivery of three 150 kW Climeon modules and is valued at approximately EUR 1 000 000. The municipality of Valemount is situated near the end of a transmission line. The distributed power production from the Climeon Heat Power solution will contribute to Valemount’s economic development by providing additional energy to the area.
