BGP CANOE REACH PROJECT FEATURED IN ALASKA HIGHWAY NEWS

6/4/2018

Borealis GeoPower's recently permitted Canoe Reach Geothermal project makes headlines again in Alaska Highway News' article entitled "Geothermal energy project gets drilling permit." The article states that "Situated as it is on the Pacific Ring of Fire, B.C. has good geothermal energy potential. In areas with volcanic activity, magma from the earth’s core can rise close to the surface, heating aquifers to temperatures of 200 C. When tapped, the water can be hot enough to drive steam turbines to produce power."

INNOVATION IN THE GEOTHERMAL ENERGY INDUSTRY

6/1/2018

"Geothermal energy is a growth business", states Darrell Proctor in Power Magazine's recent article entitled "Novel Geothermal Power Technology Being Deployed in Canada." The constant research and development of new, innovative technology is essential for maintaining a growth business, geothermal energy being no exception. This is why Borealis GeoPower chose Climeon to supply the power generation units for our Canoe Reach Energy project. Darrell Proctor's aforementioned Power Magazine article discusses the importance of this decision, quoting Climeon's head of sales, Andreas Källroos, as saying:

“Geothermal heat power has traditionally been focused around ‘The Ring of Fire,’ where you get hot water or steam for larger geothermal heat power plants, because Climeon’s Heat Power system operates at lower temperatures, it is now possible to generate power in areas in the world where low-temperature geothermal heat is available.”
