2023 Purposeful 50

In April 2023, Borealis CEO Alison Thompson was named among Actual Agency's 2023 Purposeful 50, a list recognizing exceptional leaders and influencers in sustainability, corporate purpose, and ESG. This prestigious accolade highlights individuals who drive measurable impact in areas such as social progress, environmental protection, and inclusion.

In July 2022, B Labs awarded Borealis the title "Best for the World 2022."
Best of the World means that a company places in the top 5% in the 5 B Impact Assessment areas (community, customers, environment, governance, and team-mates) worldwide.

2020 Future of Good – Canada’s Top 100 Recovery Projects

In 2020, Future of Good released the Top 100 Recovery Projects list. This list recognized two of Borealis’ geothermal projects, Fuel for Reconciliation and Sustainaville, for their United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

2020 Foresight - Transformation Advocate Award

Borealis earned Foresight’s Transformative Advocate Award for outstanding geothermal innovation. Cleantech can and will transform the industry. "A transformative advocate knows and uses their corporation’s influence to move the entire B.C. province toward a healthy and sustainable future," says Foresight.

2020 Foresight - Technology Acceleration Program - Best Pitch

Borealis' Chief Technology Officer, Tim Thompson, won Foresight’s Technology Acceleration pitch competition for the Fuel for Reconciliation project. More information on the project can be found here.

2019 Women in Geothermal/Seequent — Global Visibility Scholarship

In 2019, Borealis' Dr. Megan Eyre received the Visibility Scholarship for her contribution to the Fuel for Reconciliation project. Dr. Eyre earned her award for research using drones for thermal infrared and magnetic surveys.

The Clean Energy Ministerial and International Energy Agency recognized Borealis for its achievements within the Equal by 30 program. Equal by 30 is a worldwide initiative to promote equity and close the gender gap in clean energy by 2030. We pride ourselves in giving women the opportunity to grow in the clean energy industry
