Excitement around the potential applications of geothermal energy in the village of Valemount has stirred up in lieu of Borealis GeoPower's drilling debut. The Valemount Geothermal Society has expressed a particular interest in the development of a hot pool tourist attraction, and in recent years, the VGS has acted as an avid supporter of Borealis GeoPower and the Canadian Geothermal Energy industry as a whole. The Rocky Mountain Goat newspaper featured Borealis GeoPower and the Valemount Geothermal Society in an article entitled "Hot and enterprising: getting recreational with geothermal" by Andru McCracken. The article discusses Borealis' recent exploratory drilling for the Canoe Reach Geothermal project, as well as the VGS' intention to utilize excess geothermal heat for a hot pool. If you would like to support geothermal development in Canada, please consider contributing to the Valemount Geothermal Society's crowdfunding campaign.
